What’s The Difference Between The God Of The Jews, Christians, Muslims, Etc?
It seems Gods from different religions have certain distinct qualities, and I am curious how one would describe them for all the major religions. I don’t want to sound anti-semitic when I say that the Jewish God is vengeful, angry, biased toward Jews, violent or correct me if this is totally wrong. The Christian God seems to be all about love, forgiveness, helping the poor. It’s almost like the Jewish God is a right-wing conservative and the Christian God is a left-wing hippie. What is the God of Islam like?

Not the same God AT ALL.
The truth is that JESUS is God, but Islam rejects this truth, therefore Islam clearly has a different and fake “god” that cannot save anyone.
Judaism cannot save anyone either.
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in Jesus for salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).
The God of the Jews and of the Christians is the SAME God. The god of Islam is NOT the same god!http://www.ankerberg.com/Articles/_PDFAr…
The God of the Jews and of the Christians is the same God. The difference is that Christians believe that Jesus is the begotten Son of God the Father and He has fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies and so has fulfilled the law and has ushered in a new covenant of grace to all who accept Him as Savior.
Islam calls their God “Allah” which means God in Arabic. some claim we all worship the same God. This is untrue. The Quran states that Allah has no son and that Jesus was merely a prophet. This is a direct contradiction of our God in the Bible and so it is impossible for them to be the same.
You mean, What is the difference between the perceptions different groups of religious people have towards the same God?
Er, how is the Jewish G-d ‘biased towards jews’ when Judaism says:
- all humans are equally G-d’s children
- all righteous souls have a place in the world to come
How is that ‘biased towards jews’, precisely……..?
Would it make a differance? They all worship 1 god… As for the jeiwsh god being all vengeful….not really…they would keep disobeying him…and he would punish them….As for the jewish enimies…..God would let them know..that you don’t mess with my people…or you will bring destruction against your own people…the christain God is the same God as the other ones…..As for the muslim god…..well .. its not so much god..but the people of the muslim faith…..who think its alright to hate others…because they do not beleive..the way the muslims do……some of the muslims…force others to believe…..
First of all , you have to realize that they are totally different .
Some are trying to mishit us !!
The differences :
The Jewish God : His figure is the similar to the humans’ figure ( it’s written in the first book in the Bible ) . He looks like an old man with a long white beard .
The Christians’ God : They believe in the trinity , the father , the son and the holy spirit => Three in one ! . They also believe in God’s embodiment .
Allah in Islam : He is the one and the only God . He is unlimited . Nothing is similar to him . He’s perfect – nobody’s perfect except for him .
Regarding to the qualities :
Since the Jews and the Christians share the same book , their Gods are very likely to have the same qualities . Even though , there are some differences . I think the Christians God is more tolerant !!
In Islam : Allah is the most Merciful , Gracious , Forgiving , Thankful , Patient , Tolerant …
islame = allah is the creator ( one god ) he is justice if you did good you go to paradise if you did bad you go to hell
jews = eloim is the creator ( one god )
christain = ( 3 in 1 )
in christianty :-
the father is god , the son is god and the holy gost is god but not three gods but one god
the father is a person , the son is a person and the holy gost is a person but not three persons but one person ,
the father is almighty the son is almighty and the holy gost is almighty but not three almighty but one almighty
The G-d of the Jews, Muslims, and Christians are the same.
Muslims believe that Christians and Jews are people of the book, because we follow the Torah and the Bible, and therefore follow the same G-d.
Christianity also states that Jews have the same G-d.
The only differences is how one views G-d and interprets him. Christians view G-d as aprt of three things, the father, son, and holy ghost. While us Jews view G-d as a single, individual entity.
Now, I don’t really know if Muslims believe in a Messiah, but I havent studied that far.
Each one has a different view. Muslims believe that the Quran is G-d’s last testament that was delievered by his Prophet, Muhammad. Christians believe that one must follow G-d by going through his son, Yeshua. Us Jews believe one must Look forward to the Messiah coming and that he will be sent by G-d later on.
Basically, we all believe in the same G-d, but have different views and perceptions on him.
The bible quoted there is one God who created the earth and the heaven. The name Jews came from Juda, the Israelites carry the name Jews when they lived in another country. Christians mean somebody who follows Jesus Christ. Muslin believe in one God.
you cannot understand God from the Torah. the Torah is about us and our obligations, moral and legal, not god. the picture you have painted is understandable, but (forgive me for saying) absolute rubbish. to understand what Jews say about their god, you need to be Jewish and spend a huge amount of time researching it, in a proper Jewish context. so, although you have done nothing wrong by asking the question, and it was based on a common and easy misconception, please don’t refer to this again.
Thanks!
Muslims, Jews and Christians worship the same God (but the God here isn’t Jesus)
______________________________________…
Muslim literally “one who submits (to God)”. All the 3 Scriptures are telling us to SUBMIT to God.
Quran:
“Who can be better in religion than one who SUBMITs his whole self to God, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For God did take Abraham for a friend.”
(Quran 4:125)
New Testament:
“SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God…” (James 4:7)
Old Testament:
“Do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; SUBMIT to the Lord. Come to the sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.”
(2 Chronicles 30:8)
And the question now is … submit to which God?
Of course to Allah:
The word ‘Eloah’ appears more than 70 times in the Tanakh (Hebrew) while it is called Elah in Aramaic. But the Arabic has no letter ‘E” and they only have ‘Alif’ which is an ‘A’. So the Arabs call God as ‘Allah’.
In the Tanakh, ‘Eloah’ is used in six places for heathen deities (e.g., 2 Chronicles 32:15; Daniel 11:37-38), though in the majority of cases the name is used for the God of Israel.

What Allah ordered us? To practice Quranic Way of Life:http://english.islamway.com/bindex.php?s…
pretty much, you’ve been served fresh-out-of-the-oven, hot AntiSemetic bullshit.
My G-d (im a jew btw) is really kind, and does everything to help us to grow and aspire to be better people.
Jews and Muslims actually worship the same G-d. Islam is just a little skewed.
There are arguments as to wheather or not Christianity is even MonoTheistic. (TRInity, anyone? god in 3 parts? yeah. not even all CHRISTIANS agree on that!)
its the same god
not much difference as some peoiple will try to tell you
the “god” of religion is $$$$ MONEY $$$$. religion can’t survive without it…………..
SOLUTION for atheists, theists, agnostics, wiccans, pagans and religious believers: Create YOUR Relationship with Our Creator and eliminate religion from YOUR Life.
Peace be with YOU / LOVE is the answer
They are all fictional characters invented to gain control of the ignorant masses of the time.
you are no king…..CHRISTIANS KEEP THE TRINITY….NO ONE else does!!!!!!!
The god of the Bible seems to suffer from some form of split personality disorder-in the Hebrew Bible, he’s both the vengefull prick you described and a totally cool, loving, pascifistic guy. The Christian God is both loving and more of a prick than the Jewish God. The Islamic God is the same.
And yes, I called your God a prick, Christians/Jews/Muslims. Jews, there’s the whole, “Smite thy enemy,” thing. Christians, there’s the whole, “If you don’t kiss my feet I’m going to make you regret being born,” thing. Muslims, the whole women thing.
The fact is that they all have their flaws, and that’s not really a bad thing.
Though the Christian God seems like the biggest Bigot of them all.
The Jewish God has a favourite nation (Israel), the Christian God has a son called Jesus, and the Islamic God wrote the Qur’an and dislikes women.
Same God; different prophets, books, and teachings (although what is supposedly taught is very similar, what is taught in actuality is very different).
Jews says JEHOWAH to ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD, Christians also worship JEHOWAH, the ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD but through and in the name of JESUS, whereas Muslim prays ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD saying ALLAH, All three names are of one, in all.
There is *no* difference really.
1. But Jews and Muslims have a common notion of understanding that “God is unique and does not begets a son”
2. Christians and Muslims both recognize Jesus Christ(P), as the Messiah and his miraculous birth and second coming, Jews are still waiting for the Messiah, but they don’t know that It was Jesus Christ(P).
3. Jerusalem is a Holy-City for all the three religions
4. Judaism, Christianity and Islam have branched out from the Family of Abraham(P).
5. Christians accept Jesus(P) to be in parallel to God, which is not accepted by Muslims and Jews
6. All three religions believe that every man living on earth irrespective of his current identity, race, colour or religion belongs to the Family of Adam(P), the first man.
Well there are more commonalities in these three religions than differences,
The God although the same has different name,
1. Hebrew – Jews – Yahweh
2. Aramiac – Christians – Elohim
3. Arabic – Muslims – Al’Ilah
-( A Muslim)
God of Islam is always Oft Forgiving and Most Merciful:http://www.islamitexts.org/?k=Allah+is+O…
It is all from one God, Allah. God is just a title and Allah is the name of God. It is the perfect way to express the one and only God because 1) it literally translates to- the God 2) it is genderless and could not be given a gender 3) it cannot be made plural.
All the prophets brought the same religion, Islam. Which simply means submission to God. As the words of these prophets were written down and passed on, they were changed and that is why there is so much variance in religion. It might also be worthy to note that in Arabic Bibles and Torahs you will see Allah everywhere it would say God in English.
David- Muslims love respect and believe in Jesus as a prophet of Allah. We know that the only way to salvation is to know that there is only one God and to not set up partners or equals to Him. We are each responsible for our own sins. Doesn’t that make more sense than the trinity?
